Blanc de Blancs, North Coast – 2005 – 91 points – Connoisseurs’ Guide to California Wine

“Although its suggestions of chalk and stones and green, slightly citrusy fruit are very much the stuff of classic Blanc de Blancs, Schramsberg’s latest goes a step further than most in terms of richness and ups the ante by way of its considerable yeast. Very dry and austere in the way of its genre, it is firm and frothy with lots of life and seems a genuine candidate for improving with a bit of time in the bottle.”
