Chablis Grand Cru La Réserve de l’Obédience – 2015 – 92 points – Vinous
92 points

“(this special bottling represents a selection of the best lots, and routinely features more barrel influence than the regular Blanchots): Pale yellow. An element of spicy oak sweetens the aromas of white peach, lemon, orange zest and minerals. Much riper, richer and broader in the mouth than the basic Blanchots, but with its somewhat sweeter impression nicely countered by harmonious acidity. The oak element contributes spice and personality to this wine, as well as early appeal, but its greater density suggests that it will need a bit more time in bottle to express its underlying fruit and minerality. For all its chewy richness, the finish is smoother and longer than that of the regular Blanchots, not to mention more saline. A major mouthful of wine but not a bit heavy.”
