Château du Moulin-à-Vent, Moulin-à-Vent – 2014 – 17 points – Jancis Robinson

“Tasted on a separate occasion, shortly after the generic tasting: Mid greyish crimson. Sweetness of both fruit and oak. Smells so much more complex than most of the 2015s and 2016s just tasted. Lovely juicy acidity tied in with gently senescent red fruit – just showing the start of tertiary flavours that are more like undergrowth than red fruit but only just, so that the red fruit still dominates. Oak is nicely in the background. Deep and rounded but still with a slight grip to indicate plenty of life ahead. You could broach it now but it has more complexity to come. Finely fresh on the finish. Classic 2014 balance.”
