“An intense ruby, this wine’s smooth character, balanced full body and ‘gritty tannins’ had one panelist predicting it would become ‘a champ in the future.’ Dark fruit, smoked oak, black pepper, vanilla and chocolate aromas danced through the nose. Flavors of dark fruit, mint, cherry-vanilla soda, red licorice and sage skipped through the mouth. With its ‘sumptuous’ mouthfeel (despite a bit of sediment), this enjoyable wine will soften with age. The finish swayed through layers of ‘vibrant’ fruit before lingering on ‘shades of earth.'”
