Mâcon-Verzé – 2007 – 90 points – winereviewonline.com
90 points

“Domaine Leflaive, one of Burgundy’s top white wine producers, expanded into the Mâcon region several years ago (note the minute difference in name, Domaines, as opposed to Domaine). In keeping with the character of the 2009 white Burgundies, this one is more forward and ripe than in the past. Still, there’s sufficient acidity to keep it lively and balanced. And forward and ripe in Macon is far different from California, so by New World standards, this one shows welcome restraint. It shows that Mâcon is a place for stellar wines given the right location and winemaking team.”
