Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières – 2008 – 91 points – Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar
91 points

“Bright medium yellow. Ripe, musky aromas of stone fruits and pineapple, complicated by flowers, cumin and a hint of smoky reduction; reminded me a bit of an Alsace riesling. Thick, opulent and sweet; in a very ripe and large style for Folatieres but with enough energy behind it. Still, this seems distinctly heavier than the young 2009. Finishes round and persistent, with an almost honeyed character. I would not bury this one in the cellar.”
