“Very, very pale Provençal pink and, after the colour, an unexpected intensity on the nose. Scented with peachy red fruits alongside light touches of citrus and a chalky/stony quality. Going back to it, there is even a hint of white blossom, perhaps from the Rolle. Aromatically delicate but complex even in youth and even though it is a wine designed to age a few years in bottle. On the palate it’s bone dry but again full of fruit, deep and persistent and with just the merest hint of tannin to give structure alongside the bright acidity. Refreshing, serious and long. Could be drunk on its own or at the table. Perfect balance.”
