Bright amber-gold. Knockout nose offers explosive aromas of orange rind, raisin, fig, honeysuckle and sweet spices. Very dense but wonderfully vibrant and delineated thanks to harmonious, lively acidity, with the orange rind flavor carrying through onto the palate along with raisin, date and peach flavors. Finishes thick, rich and sweet, with superb persistence. This is much better than the lighter 2005 and is one of the best Vin Santos by Volpaia in recent memory.
