Meursault 1er Cru sous le Dos d’Âne — 2021

The Wine Advocate
92+

“Aromas of citrus zest, green apple, hazelnuts and fresh mint introduce Leflaive's 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos d'Ane, a medium to full-bodied, taut and electric wine with a satiny attack that segues into a palate built around tangy acids. This parcel, formerly planted to red, abuts Pierre Morey's Meursault Perrières, and the soils are very stony.”

Puligny-Montrachet — 2021

The Wine Advocate
90+

“The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Village offers up aromas of pear, sweet citrus oil, toasted nuts and iodine, followed by a medium to full-bodied, tangy and chiseled palate that's taut, pure and saline, with a racy spine of acidity and a penetrating finish. This will reward a bit of bottle age.”

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon — 2021

The Wine Advocate
92+

“The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clavoillon is youthfully reserved, unwinding in the glass with aromas of pear and green apple mingled with toasted nuts, freshly baked bread and iodine. Medium-bodied, tangy and electric, with racy acids and a searingly saline finish, it will age with grace.”

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles — 2021

The Wine Advocate
93+

“Unwinding in the glass with aromas of mandarin, buttered toast, clear honey, toasted nuts and youthful reduction, Leflaive's 2021 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles is medium to full-bodied, layered and chalky, with a dense core of fruit and impressive structuring extract. This is built for the cellar.”

Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes — 2021

The Wine Advocate
94+

“The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes is another impressive wine in a succession of hits for this premier cru chez Leflaive, where old vines on the cusp of being ripped up have been rehabilitated into more regular production. Opening in the glass with a reductive bouquet of ripe citrus fruit, iodine, dried white flowers and mint, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with lovely depth and texture to match the cut and tension of the vintage.”

Sigrid Chardonnay, Willamette Valley — 2021

Vinous
95

"'The 2021 Chardonnay Sigrid opens with a savory bouquet, blending incense, ginger, dusty florals and hints of fleshly sliced peach. This is a model of refinement, silky and sapid with tactile mineral tones offsetting its ripe white pit fruits as a core of stimulating acidity maintains marvelous freshness. There's so much complexity here, as the 2021 finishes long, with a lingering salinity perfectly balanced by a tinge of candied citrus and hints of young kiwi."

Le Pré du Col Pinot Noir, Ribbon Ridge — 2021

Vinous
93+

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Le Pré du Col is spicy and airy with a perfumed blend of dusty dried flowers, ground ginger and wild strawberries. This mixes savory and sweet with a cascade of violets and lavender over a stream of brisk acidity. It casts tangy red fruits across the palate, offset by a tinge of sour citrus. Only lightly tannic yet full of tension, Le Pré du Col finishes long and potent with an air of inner florals and hints of foreign spice. While its structural footprint doesn't have as much impact, the 2021 should mature beautifully on its balance alone."

Old Stones Chardonnay, Willamette Valley — 2021

Vinous
92

"The 2021 Chardonnay Old Stones wafts up with a spicy, citrus-driven bouquet of lemon oils, hints of mint and crisp green apple. Luxuriously smooth with a pleasant inner sweetness, it flows across the palate with seductively ripe orchard fruits and sweet spices. It concludes with incredible length and potency, yet amazingly fresh with a lingering sapid fruit concentration. For all of the ripeness in this glass, the 2021 finishes with zero grams of residual sugar. What a darling."

Bergström Vineyard Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills — 2021

Vinous
96

"The 2021 Pinot Noir The Bergström Vineyard is dark and brooding, enticing with a meaty blend of savory black cherry and cedar shavings complicated by flowery underbrush and a lifting hint of camphor. This is texturally thrilling, with ripe wild berry fruit depths guided by brisk acidity, taking on a saline edge and hints of licorice toward the close. It's potent and long with gritty tannins. A concentration of tart blackberry and spice pinch at the cheeks, yet the mouth is left watering for more as a salty flourish carries on."

Silice Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains — 2021

Vinous
94

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Silice lifts from the glass, delicate and wonderfully fresh, casting dusty dried flowers and hints of star anise, cinnamon, and wild strawberries to form its darkly alluring bouquet. Cool-toned and wickedly fresh, it cascades across the palate with crunchy wild berries propelled by zesty acidity as salty florals come forward. It finishes tannic, yet sweet and round, tapering off quickly to leave touches of licorice and inner rose."

La Spirale Pinot Noir, Ribbon Ridge — 2021

Vinous
94

"The 2021 Pinot Noir La Spirale is perfumed to the max, with an array of violets and roses evolving into delicate black cherry in an air of chalk dust and sweet smoke. Lifted and refined with cooling acidity, the 2021 doesn't miss a beat, coming across both finessed yet also sapid with slowly saturating masses of ripe dark red fruits. This cakes the palate with primary concentration and minerals, lingering impossibly long and structured yet perfectly fresh. There's tremendous cellar potential here."

Cumberland Reserve Pinot Noir — 2021

Vinous
92

"The 2021 Pinot Noir Reserve Cumberland blossoms in the glass with dusty blackberry and rose petals complicated by hints of incense and clove. Succulent and round with ripe red fruit depths and inner florals. It takes on a chalky minerality as juicy acidity maintains an energetic feel. Hints of sour citrus tug at the senses as the 2021 finishes fresh and crisp, leaving gently staining silty tannins. The balance here is outstanding."

Castello di Volpaia
Chianti Classico DOCG — 2021

Wine Spectator
92

"Castello di Volpaia makes several high-end Chianti Classicos, including a riserva along with two single-vineyard gran selezione, yet it’s the 2021 annata that provides an ideal combination of quality and value. This racy version boasts black cherry, blueberry, violet and iron flavors, with firm tannins and flashes of Mediterranean scrub. Volpaia’s high-elevation vineyards in the UGA Radda, ranging from 1,200 to 2,000 feet, yield wines of elegance and vigor."

"The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillon 1er Cru has a very fine bouquet with dew-speckled green apples, petrichor and lime gradually unfolding in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with an almost piercing line of acidity, yet it remains very well-balanced with ample weight on the sapid finish. Very fine.”
