Clean, fragrant and creamy-rich, this wine has the juicy pineapple flavors of a New World chardonnay with a lemony savor that keeps it in the Mâcon. Generous and ripe, it’s ready to chill for roast prawns.

They have 4.8 ha (nearly 12 acres) and lots of small parcels, from 210 to 400 m, so they are blended. 80% fermented in tank and 20% in barrel. And one barrel was new. Smells more oaky and mealy than the Mâcon-Solutré 2016. More spicy. But on the palate, lots of bright pure citrus. Rich and creamy. A slight grip extends the length and heightens the freshness.

Deep gold. A pretty 'natural' wild-yeast sort of nose – not that intense – and lots to chew on. Savoury, bone dry – not the flashy, fruity appeal of some of its peers. A very dry style.

"Elegant and flavorful, the 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé is a definite success from this new producer, offering up a classic bouquet of honeyed citrus fruits and spring flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied."
