Planted exclusively for Hyde de Villaine on an optimal location on Hyde Vineyard, our Ygnacia Pinot Noir is a blend of 6 heritage clones collected by Larry Hyde over the last 40 years of farming. This wine represents a lifetime of work by Mr. Hyde in his pursuit of the finest Pinot Noir selections in the New World.

Despite the severe drought conditions that dictated the growing season, 2021 remained a very calm vintage with no heat spikes or natural disasters leading to Harvest. The mild weather, along with lower yields, elevated the concentration of freshness and flavors in the grapes, resulting in intensely layered wines, but with precision and focus. An age-worthy vintage, along the lines of 2015 or 2017, that proved to be some of the best wines we have ever produced.

Aromas of Bing cherry and raspberry compote lead into hints of violet and orange peel. Delicate notes of cinnamon and anise frame the flavors of pomegranate and a subtle mint. Fine-grained, firm tannins provide structure while the acidity provides for a beautifully juicy finish.
