“Perfumed, savoury and dark-fruited. Very lively and pristine fruit. The tannins are ripe and elegant. The finish is long, spicy and a bit meaty. A delicious, savoury wine ready to drink now.”

Cape Crest Sauvignon Blanc, Hawke’s Bay — 2022

"The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Cape Crest is a generous, textural expression with a slightly saline edge on the mouthwatering finish. Well-integrated vanillins combine with blackcurrant, nectarine, red grapefruit and a hint of gooseberry flavors to provide a rarely seen side of Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc – no doubt the addition of Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris play their part. This is attractive and judiciously made."

"We tasted this a couple of years ago. Aromas of ink, tar, blackberries, blueberries and lead pencil follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate with firm and medium velvety tannins. Solid with great length and beauty. Needs time to soften but a great wine."

"A juicy and crisp white with green apple, lemongrass and other fresh herbs. Some dried melon as well. It’s medium to full body with lots of tangy acidity. Phenolic. Dry and flavorful."
