"The 2019 Etna Bianco Superiore Pietra Marina captivates. It’s perfumed and floral, with enriching notes of almond paste and confectionery spice that perfectly accentuate a smoky core of white peaches. There’s more lift on the palate, but it's a little backward, possessing wiry textures and an intense mineral core that adds depth to its citrus-inflected orchard fruits. Nervous acidity forces the mouth to water and maintains a dazzling freshness as inner florals resonate and a sour lime concentration settles in."

"Dark and dusty, the 2018 Etna Rosso Riserva Serra della Contessa Particella No. 587 wafts up with unexpected richness as plum sauce and cinnamon spice combine with rubbed sage and hints of white smoke. This sweeps across the palate, soft, elegant and medium in body. A saturation of red and blue fruits drenches the palate in primary concentration while edgy tannins tug at the cheeks."

"The 2021 Nerello Cappuccio is dark and brooding in the glass. Hints of sage and balsamic spice complicate dried black cherries on the nose. It’s much more giving on the palate, pleasantly ripe in style with a wave of tart wild berry fruits and saline minerals that saturate, adding tension toward the close. The 2021 tapers off with a staining of primary concentration, gently grippy tannins and a bitter tinge of tart blackberry that lingers on and on."

"The 2018 Etna Rosso Riserva Rovittello Particella No. 341 lifts from the glass with a spice-box bouquet, mixing camphor with cloves, incense, black cherries, burnt orange and a dusting of cocoa. It’s lifted and finessed with silky textures over a wiry framework. Tart wild berry fruits saturate, and cedary spice resonates toward the close. The 2018 finishes structured and pleasantly bitter as hints of dark chocolate and blackberry linger on and on. This is an excellent effort in a challenging vintage."
