  • Introduction

    • The crest on our HdV label traces back to the de la Guerra family of Spain and our family patriarch, Don José de la Guerra, who settled in California during the late eighteenth century. Simply put, he was an original Californio. In accordance with the celebration of our Spanish heritage, our inaugural Pinot Noir release dons the name of a family matriarch, Ysabel.

  • Tasting Notes

    • Complex and balanced, red fruits, floral and earthy notes arise from the glass. An elegant entry leads to a lively freshness and minerality that harmonize with the flesh and succulence of the wine. Elegant, round, soft and finely woven tannins pair admirably with the excellent fruit intensity on the mid palate. The finish is firm and long, as the wine promises years of cellar aging.
      Aging Potential: 10-15 years

Reviews

  • Pinot Noir, Ysabel, Sonoma Mountain – 2012 – 93 points, Cellar Selection – Wine Enthusiast

"… this wine conveys roses and black tea, along with a woodsy, truffle-like character. While powerfully round and soft, it offers elegance in abundance, alongside a swatch of fresh-dug earth and a thick finish of forest floor."
