Domaine Leflaive Appoints New Managing Director: Brice de La Morandière

ST. HELENA, CA (May 13, 2015) — Domaine Leflaive shareholders have appointed Brice de La Morandière, nephew of Anne-Claude Leflaive, as the new managing director (gérant) for Domaine Leflaive and its affiliated companies,  making him the fourth generation to lead the family estate.

The genealogical rootstock of Domaine Leflaive dates back to 1717. Anne-Claude was the third generation to manage the Domaine after the founder, Joseph Leflaive. Under Anne-Claude’s leadership, the Domaine’s international reputation soared through pioneering biodynamic viticulture practices and consistently producing world-class wines of balance, structure and depth. Domaine Leflaive became and remains the benchmark of quality throughout the world.

Anne-Claude was eager to share her philosophy and sensitive intelligence of natural phenomena through the educational organization Ecole du Vin et des Terroirs, founded in 2008 by Anne-Claude with six other highly respected Burgundy vintners.

The new leadership at Domaine Leflaive marks the continued commitment and preservation of Anne-Claude’s influence, her memory and the enduring family heritage. Brice de La Morandière brings with his new post the dedication and passion for Domaine Leflaive’s incontestable and unique approach to achieving excellence at every level.

After 27 years of managing multinational companies, Brice de La Morandière looks forward to returning to Burgundy and the opportunity to dedicate his professional career to the family business. “I have always kept my roots in Puligny-Montrachet and in our Domaine, participating in its major events and contributing to our board of directors,” he says. “I am excited about this new step in my life, enabling me to share my passion with enthusiasts of Domaine Leflaive’s white burgundies.”

“Today the helm is transferred to the fourth generation that I represent,” remarks Brice de La Morandière. “We will continue with the same philosophy and respect for great terroir, humility towards the forces of nature, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in winemaking that Anne-Claude embraced and practiced.”
