“The 2012 Chianti Classico Riserva Coltassala offers lovely juiciness and radiance in the mid-weight style that is the signature at Volpaia. Sweet red cherry, raspberry, mint, cinnamon and rose petal give the 2012 its open-knit, resonant personality. The 2012 has the depth to age, but it will be hard to resist in its youth, as the tannins are silky and all the elements are very nicely balanced.”
