Essencia, Tokaj – 1999 – Best Dessert Wine – Decanter

“One hundred kilos of botrytised grapes are needed to produce just 1 litre of Essencia, a wine that, at 600g/l of sugar, has taken six years to reach 2.9% alc, retaining an uplifting 18g/l of acidity. Sold with a crystal spoon that a 50cl bottle fills 33 times, this has to be experienced to be believed.”
