“This barbera shows impressive density for a vintage that was as cool and rainy as 2014; the fruit, perhaps owes its concentration to the plot of 120-year-old, ungrafted vines from which it’s harvested. Reticent at first, it unveils flavors of black cherry and wild berries, with accents of leafy tobacco and aniseed lending herbal and spice notes.”
