It's a herbal, lemon-scented white with streaks of lime, gooseberry and tropical fruit. The classic cuvée from this estate, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape is a winner. Lots of darker cherry and currant fruits as well as ample minerality, new leather, and scorched earth notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, concentrated classic cuvée that has plenty of ripe tannins, the freshness and acidity of the vintage, terrific balance, and the class to evolve for two decades.

Heady aromas of ripe black-skinned berry, blue flower and Mediterranean scrub are front and center on this smooth red. Made with organically grown grapes, it's delicious and accessible, featuring blackberry jam, ripe black cherry, star anise and baking spice alongside supple tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced.

Aromas of pink petals, balsamic herbs and fresh raspberries. Those fresh red-berry and wild-herb flavors create a bold and buoyant expression of nero d’Avola that reflects Sireci’s wind-blown, high-elevation vineyards in central Sicily.

Red and black autumnal fruits, damp earth and peppery spice aromas lead to a ripe palate with fresh, fine-grained tannins and a minty edge. There's a glorious sweetness running through the bright red and black fruits, accompanied on the mid-palate by earth, tobacco and wood.

This displays much more wood influence. Strawberry and hedgerow berry aromas are joined by tobacco and wood notes, while the palate is juicy, intense yet fresh, with plump red and black berries and a herbal character on the mid-palate leading to a chocolatey finish. It's all nicely balanced by fresh, zingy acidity and ripe, chewy tannins.

This is such impressive chardonnay in terms of power and complexity, delivering so much with such poise. Aromas of lemons and peaches intersect with lightly spicy oak and brioche on the nose. The palate drops mouth-filling flavors of peach and lemon and winds tight, before exploding long on the finish with a long, nutty afterglow. Perfect chardonnay.

This is a wine of real purity and elegance with fresh sliced peaches and lemons, as well as some light pastry notes. The palate is fine, unwaveringly long and pure with enlivening acidity through the finish. Stunning.

A complex chardonnay with yellow citrus, as well as lemon-curd and creamy tones. Light hazelnut, too. The palate has such all-encompassing, fresh peachy flavors and builds impressively through the long, full finish.

Intense and complex chardonnay with lemons and peaches, as well as pastry and fresh cream. The palate is stacked with ripe-peach flavor and fresher, citrus tones and has complex, layered texture. Classy wine.

This is a fuller style from Hawke’s Bay and quite different from the rest of the Kumeu range of chardonnays. Bold, ripe peaches dominate the nose and palate. The texture is impressively silky and smooth. Very fleshy and complete. Impressive.

As always, this has a selection of riper fruit, in the more tropical spectrum of melon and peach. It retains purity well. The palate holds such impressive concentration and hits the mark of freshness. A very strong release, representing real value.

This bottle is a true ambassador for Umbria. You get ample varietal tones in the 2016 Montefalco Sagrantino 25 Anni, with bitter chocolate and baking spice, but Caprai does a terrific job of softening up and fleshing out the Sagrantino grape to display a more contemporary and ultimately more approachable and versatile wine. It boasts a huge, bold and opulent mouthfeel with plenty of structure and determination.
