Sleek, with a vivid backbone of acidity well-meshed with flavors of black cherry, lemon curd and toasted brioche. Lightly plush and creamy texture, with hints of smoke, candied ginger and honeycomb on the finish.

Bright and graceful, this leads on the nose with racy chalk and smoke notes, a minerally underpinning for delicate flavors of Gala apple, blanched almond, fleur de sel and pickling ginger. Seamless and fresh, with a long finish.

A minerally rosé Champagne with a crisp, lacy mousse, this is tightly meshed and balanced, offering a finely detailed range of crunchy white peach, spun honey, pink grapefruit pith and ground ginger. Creamy and lingering on the chalk-tinged finish.

A rich and creamy Champagne, with golden raisin, pastry cream and spun honey flavors layered with citrus peel acidity and a subtle, toasting underpinning. Lightly mouthwatering throughout, with a tang of salinity on the lasting finish.

The nose opens with the fresh ripeness of yellow apple and highlights of Granny Smith. It has beautifully subtle autolysis on the palate, deepening into notes of creamy apple crumble, Golden Delicious and Mirabelle plum, while remaining utterly strait-laced. Elegance, length and absolute freshness are inherent and quietly convincing.

Handsome and fully mature, this well-aged bottle of bubbles is all about complexity. Tempting aromas of toasted walnuts and buttered baguettes are backed by mellow lemon and tangerine notes that keep the palate fresh from the start to the lingering finish.

Lively citrus flavors are nicely tempered by almond and bread-dough nuances in this elegant, well-balanced and rich-tasting wine. It offers more than fresh fruit, adding aged-on-the-lees complexity for a very tempting expression.

Aromas of black-skinned berry, cooking spice and grilled herb emerge from the glass. The enveloping palate doles out juicy blueberry, star anise, almond and black pepper alongside velvety tannins and bright acidity. Enjoy through 2025.

Fruit from Valter and Nadia Fissore's younger vines in the Ravera cru yielded a dynamic wine in 2016. It opens with scents of fresh roses and brims with flavors of juicy black cherry and plum, all of it laced with fennel pollen and orange zest. The snappy fruit tones have a pristine ripeness, propelled by brisk acidity toward a vibrant, balanced finish.

A reserved but elegant nose evidences a touch of maturity while offering up yeasty aromas of green apple and quinine. The equally elegant middle weight flavors are supported by a refined but intense mousse, all wrapped in a sappy, complex and relatively dry finale, indeed it’s drier than the stated dosage would suggest. This lovely effort could easily be enjoyed now or held for a few more years.

A restrained, and very cool nose reflects an abundance of citrus influence along with notes of green apple and yeast nuances. The refined and vibrant medium weight flavors are supported by a firm and refined effervescence before concluding in a bitter lemon-inflected finish. This attractively stylish effort is perhaps not as complex as the best in the range, but I quite like the delivery.

This too is quite aromatically discreet with its Meyer lemon, brioche, green apple and yeasty nose. There is excellent intensity to the wonderfully fine flavors that combine power with finesse, all wrapped in a crisp, very dry and notably more complex finale. This is terrific and a wine that could be enjoyed now or held for further development.

Oeil de perdrix tint. Once again, the nose is quite restrained with its wisps of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and yeasty hints. The racy and refined medium-bodied flavors possess a lovely texture that is reinforced by the fine but firm citrus-tinged mousse that carries over to the clean and notably dry but not really austere finale. This too could use better depth, but it still is quite lovely.

A cool, ultra-pure and exceptionally pretty nose combines notes of green apple, floral, citrus peel and plenty of yeast influence. The equally elegant, pure and refined middle weight flavors are supported by a firm but fine mousse, all wrapped in a wonderfully long finish that is shaped by tangy citrus-tinged acidity. This is really lovely stuff that will need a few years of bottle aging to fully flesh out. Extremely promising.

Once again, the nose is very restrained if admirably elegant and pure while revealing cool red berries, especially raspberry and cherry, along with wisps of brioche and pink grapefruit. The graceful yet quite intense flavors are supported by a strikingly refined effervescence that contributes to the overall sense of finesse on the moderately complex and agreeably dry finale. This lovely effort has reached a drink or hold stage

Gosset's NV Brut Grand Millésime offers a terrific expression of the year in its toasted, open-knit personality. Pastry, orchard fruit, spice and light tropical accents all grace this translucent, alluring Champagne from Gosset. The 2012 has plenty of the energy Gosset fans will expect, but slightly softer contours that make the wine easy to drink and enjoy upon release.

The 2007 Extra-Brut Vintage Celebris is a great example of the house style. Powerful and rich, the 2007 possesses tremendous vinous intensity, buffered by low dosage that gives the wine ts sense if classic austerity. Orchard fruit, apricot, tangerine oil and white flowers develop with a bit of coaxing. The Celebris is a big, broad-shouldered Champagne for the dinner table.

Creaminess on the nose of this wine comes with the richness of crème fraiche edged with lemon. A velvety palate enforces this bright, mellow creaminess, layering it with chalky coolness pervaded with zesty lemon. The round-ness of 2018is conserved in refreshing smoothness. Depth is already hinted at on the long, smooth and chalky finish. Drink 2025–2045.

Just a touch of smoke intrudes upon the lemon freshness and chalky depth appar-ent on this wine’s nose. A hint of passion fruit lends a tropical spin. The palate focuses on an almost candied lemon richness and concentration that suf-fuses itself with the chalky depth of the midpalate. This wine is textured, rounded and generous, yet highlighted by that lemon brightness. It’s a reso-nant, rich wine that will evolve. Drink 2022–2040.

A lifted intensity of lemon and hazel-nut on this wine’s subtle nose promises concen-tration. The palate presents lemon zestiness and a yeasty texture that seems to fizz with freshness. It has lemony resonance, mouthwatering brightness and a rounded body to back it all up.
