Arnaldo Caprai
25 Anni Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG
25th Anniversary is the result of in-depth research and careful clonal selection of Sagrantino's best grapes. This jubilee wine was produced for the first time in 1993 to celebrate the winery's 25th anniversary. Since then, 25 Anni has kept its name as well as its unique character, power and elegance. The release of 25 Anni in 1996 was an historical moment for Montefalco and the history of Sagrantino, bringing the grapoe and territory in the spotlight among the finest Italian wines.
The vines, aged between 25 and 30 years, benefit from a southern exposure, ensuring optimal sunlight throughout the day and promoting the slow, even ripening of the grapes. These older vines, with their deep root systems, produce low yields but exceptionally concentrated fruit. The vineyard’s careful management and sustainable practices highlight the Caprai family's commitment to quality, and the unique terroir enhances the complexity and depth of the Sagrantino. The result is a wine that embodies the power, elegance, and heritage of the region, with each vintage reflecting the careful balance between nature and the family’s decades of expertise in winemaking.

Surprising complexity from blackberry jam to rose potpourri, nutmeg to pepper, pine resin to mint, clove to cocoa. Soft and persuasive, intense, persistent finish. Fresh, with complex tannins.

"Deep, complex and serious, with tar, dried blackberries, peppercorns, asphalt, cocoa beans and a touch of lead pencil and cedar on the nose. Really vertical and tannic, with a full body and beautifully structured tannins. Don’t be put off by the austere, sinewy tannins, which are typical to sagrantino and show very good potential for its integration, even though it is too early to approach now. Very long, spicy and well framed, with a touch of bitter chocolate at the end."
