Anas-Cëtta Nascetta del Comune di Novello Langhe DOC
Anas-Cëtta, also known as Nascetta, is an autochthonous historical variety native to the Novello commune. Once highly popular in the 19th century, Nascetta is the only indigenous white grape variety from the Langhe region. Elvio Cogno is credited with saving this grape from extinction in the early 1990s, and his commitment to preserving its heritage has brought it back to prominence. What makes this wine unique is its rare, distinctive character—combining freshness, complexity, and a rich aromatic profile that reflects the terroir of Novello.
The vineyards for the Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello extend for about two hectares inside the Novello Commune. They are planted at around 350 m above sea level, both in the Western and Eastern sector of the commune. The soil is calcareous clay, rich in minerals that give the wine great savoriness and complexity.

"The 2024 Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello Anas-Cëtta is vibrant and expressive, immediately standing out for its aromatic intensity. A pale yellow color, it reveals notes of peach, mango skin, fresh almond, and citrus oils. Medium-bodied, salty, and bright, it carries pure fruit and excellent energy through the palate. Fermented 50% in stainless steel and 50% in 15-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels and aged six months before release, this distinctive white has both character and aging potential. Around 12,000 bottles were produced. Drink 2026-2037."
