Known for its balance and finesse, this wine showcases vibrant red fruit, earthy complexity, and subtle spice, all supported by a firm yet graceful structure. Aged in large Slavonian oak barrels, it epitomizes the winery's tradition of excellence, delivering a standout expression of Sangiovese that combines delicacy with depth and aging potential.
The grapes for Biondi-Santi’s Brunello are sourced from the estate’s prime vineyards, located in the prestigious Montalcino region of Tuscany. These vineyards, planted with the Sangiovese Grosso variety, are carefully managed to ensure that only the finest fruit is harvested. The soils, rich in clay and limestone, coupled with the estate’s high-altitude vineyards, provide the ideal environment for producing grapes with balance, freshness, and complexity. The cool climate and significant diurnal temperature variation allow the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their natural acidity and aromatic potential. The Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino is both refined and balanced. As soon as you smell the wine you may feel the low presence of alcohol together with a variety of invigorating notes as dried herbs, violet, orange zest, forest berry, Morello cherry and crushed mint. The palate is delicious and succulent, dangerously easy to drink now, but also able to age beautifully, thanks to its bright acidity. A vibrant, juicy wine, which literally dances across the palate, with velvety and polished tannins, A saline mesmerizing touch adds complexity to the finish, reminding us what a wine with a “sense of place” means.

"Surely one of the wines of the vintage, Biondi-Santi 2019 is balletic and dynamic, opening with a waft of balsamic herbs suffused with tobacco, black tea and blood orange. Bright, confident acidity underlines stony mid-palate sapidity and shy glimpses of gorgeous black cherry and blood orange. Vertically built with very fine, cashmere tannins, the balance and energy is nothing short of majestic. An interesting fact as stated by winemaker Federico Radi: in its long history, Biondi-Santi has only made wines over 14% abv four times."
