"The 2022 Chablis Les Vaillons Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru, from 65-year-old vines, has a perfumed bouquet with red apple, yellow plum and melted candle wax scents, a little oilier than its peers but quite intriguing. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fine concentration and ample focus, that citric thread of acidity upholding tension. Very fine."

"An austere version, this Chablis suggests apple, lemon and stone notes, with an underlying chalky feel. Gathers steam across the palate, building to the long, mineral-infused finish. This also opened with aeration, so give it a year or two in the cellar."
