Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 'Monte Lodoletta' differs from the Valpolicella Superiore DOC 'Monte Lodoletta' in three key ways. First, its drying period lasts three months rather than one and a half. Second, following company philosophy, Amarone uses only grapes from vineyards over ten years old. Third, the grapes come from the estate's most premium vineyards, selected for their superior soil and climate conditions. Apart from these distinctions, both wines share similar production and maturation methods. However, Amarone stands apart from its younger sibling with its greater power and elegance. It demonstrates superior complexity, depth, and persistence.
The estate vineyards and farm are located where the slopes begin to rise toward the mountains and sit 1,000 feet above sea level.

"The nose opens with a lightly earthy, phenolic character before unleashing wonderfully fresh aromas of crushed wild berries. The palate is tightly packed and mineral-driven, firmly structured with very fine tannins that emphasise length over breadth at this current stage of its evolution. All the power is reserved for a punchy, terroir-driven finish. The 2018 vintage was cool and wet, but fruit picked late in September – after the final rains – achieved beautiful balance and ripeness. While it is just entering its drinking window now, this is a wine that will benefit tremendously from further bottle age."

"Fragrant and enticing, exuding ripe fruit, incense and India ink aromas. This is tightly meshed and focused, with a muscular core of tannins enmeshed in flavors of pureed mulberry and boysenberry fruit, violet, herbed black olive and fig paste. This shows real depth of flavor and length but also bright freshness and animation. Spice, graphite and tar-tinged mineral notes lace the long finish. Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Drink now through 2043. 1,350 cases made, 400 cases imported."
