Dal Forno Romano
Valpolicella Superiore DOC
Dal Forno Romano Valpolicella is a standout red that elevates the traditional Valpolicella style with exceptional depth and concentration. Made from hand-selected Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta, this wine undergoes a unique drying process, similar to Amarone, which intensifies its flavors. The result is a wine with rich, ripe fruit aromas, complex spices, and a touch of balsamic notes. What makes this wine unique is its innovative approach to the Valpolicella tradition, offering a balance of intensity, elegance, and aging potential. A testament to bringing together tradition and innovation.
The estate vineyards and farm are located where the slopes begin to rise toward the mountains and sit 1,000 feet above sea level. The sites originate from alluvial plains; composed of 70% gravel, 15% silt, and 15% clay soils. The estate’s vineyards are carefully tended, with a focus on low yields to ensure maximum concentration and flavor.

Valpolicella offers hints of blueberry, blackberry, cherry and chocolate which emerge gradually as the wine breathes. The potent tannins, which give structure to this product, are in perfect symbiosis with the velvety aromas of sweet spices and jam which envelop the palate and excite the senses.

"Wow. A super-intense and perfumed wine with aromas of vibrant plums, restrained blood oranges, sweet spices, cloves, coconut, gardenias, milk and fresh mint. Full-bodied and smooth, with velvety, elegant tannins, great density and long, refreshing and balancing acidity. Sleek finish of graphite and licorice. Despite its concentration and dry extract, it shows lightness on the palate. Drinkable now, but at its peak in 10 years."

"The Dal Forno Romano 2019 Valpolicella Superiore Monte Lodoletta ages in 70% French and 30% American oak for 36 months. You get a thick core of dark blackberry fruit that is surrounded by oak-driven tones of barbecue spice and toasted clove. The tannins feel firm and hard in this wine that still needs to complete more years of bottle age."
