Montagny "Les Cents Pièces"
“Les Cents Pièces”, meaning “one hundred barrels”, refers to a traditional Burgundian “pièce” barrel. Planted on east to southeast-facing slopes reaching up to 400 meters in elevation, these Chardonnay vines thrive in the rugged terrain of Montagny, the southernmost village of the Côte Chalonnaise on the edge of the Mâconnais, where high altitude brings vibrant acidity and freshness.
Plot - 4.9 ha. This cuvée is crafted from just under five hectares of vines located in the climats of Le Reuilly and Les Joncs. The marly, clayey and very stony soils, along with several resurgent springs, create a unique terroir perfect for revealing the singular character of Montagny.
