Domaine Laroche
Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots
The flagship Grand Cru of Domaine Laroche offers much finesse and charm. Blanchots takes its name from the white clays that are very present on this exceptionally steep
hillside. A delight for paleontology enthusiasts and for the vines, an ideal combination that retains water in depth to feed the roots. The South-East exposure and the presence
of clay allow for slow maturation, without degradation of the aromas.
Domaine Laroche is the major owner of this delicate Grand Cru climate with about one-third of the surface : 4.35 ha out of 12.7 ha in total. Les Blanchots is a unique terroir made of a layer of white clay on Kimmeridgian limestone with ammonites.

A real elegance appears in this grand cru, with a typical spring blossom aroma and a delicate mineral finish. On the palate, it offers a silky mouth-feel supported by a lively, racy acidity. Blanchots is delicate, silky and shows its charm after five years in bottle and at peak after 10 to 12 years.

"Opens with an enticing aroma of lime, green apple and ripe pear. The texture is delicate but there is enough substance to keep this lively on the palate. The grapes are from the domaine’s massive 4.34ha of vines in this grand cru, where they are the largest proprietor. The wine is still on the lees; it spends 10 months in barrel before being transferred to tank."
