Familia Torres Priorat
Mas de La Rosa, DOQ Priorat
The finest wines are defined by their ability to express place with clarity and conviction. Mas de la Rosa embodies this ideal. Originating from a Torres family-owned vineyard planted to 84-year-old Cariñena and Garnacha bush vines. The yields from the vineyard are so low that it takes nearly five vines to make a single bottle of Mas de la Rosa. This truly remarkable vineyard casts inspiration for this iconic and limited bottling.
Mas de la Rosa is a tiny, two-hectare estate vineyard tucked into a remote corner of Porrera in Priorat. Planted to Cariñena and Garnacha in 1938 in llicorella soil, it sits on
a dramatic 30% slope at 500 meters above sea level, and is accessible only by a narrow, winding, unpaved road.

Brilliant ruby, with aromas of wild red berries, dried petals, alpine herbs, and a hint of minerality. The palate is vibrant and finely textured, layering strawberry, raspberry, and
red cherry with subtle anise and spice, finishing silky and poised with polished tannins.

"An enticing core of wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit is set in this fresh, graceful red, joined by fragrant slate, violet, mountain herb, red licorice and anise accents. There’s subtle and pleasing tension throughout, with fine, taut tannins enmeshed in the fruit profile and a silky mouthfeel. Evolves nicely in the glass and expands on the palate through the long finish. Cariñena and Garnacha. Drink now through 2041."
