Feudo Montoni
Nerello Mascalese Terre di Elio Terre Siciliane IGT
"Terre di Elio" or "Land of Elio" is named after the owner's son. This wine is crafted from 35-year-old vines, grafted from the older Nerello Mascalese "mother plants" that are considered the genetic foundation of the estate’s vineyards. The vineyard sits at an impressive 2,100 feet above sea level, in a high-altitude, naturally isolated location protected by surrounding durum wheat fields. The cool, mountainous environment allows for slow ripening of the grapes, contributing to the wine’s exceptional balance.
For centuries, the durum wheat fields have contributed to a “natural isolation” of Montoni’s high-altitude vineyards from the rest of the landscape, creating “an island within an island,” where the ancient grape varieties are protected.

"A classic and quite artisanal wine with aromas of bright strawberries, strawberry jelly, cinnamon, blood oranges and leesy character. Full-bodied, it shows fresh style, slightly sour fruit flavors, crisp acidity and ripe, dusty tannins. Youthful and crunchy, with complexity and smoky depth. From organically grown grapes."
