Chêne Bleu
Héloïse
The flagship Syrah based blend named after the famed philosopher Héloïse d’Argenteuil, brilliant disciple-turned-lover of Pierre Abélard, fearless and forward-thinking. Showcasing the elegance and restraint of cooler-climate Syrah, with some fleshy Grenache and a touch of Roussanne to add floral aromatics.
The Grenache vines are 40 years old, facing north-west at 530m, and the Syrah vines are 25 years old, facing south-west at 540m. Pruning is done in Single and double cordon de Royat with 5-6 shoots per cordon, and the soil is composed of clay, limestone, and many stones.

A deep brillant garnet color. Rich, intense, and focused with plenty of ripe fruit, toasty aromas and liquorice. A powerful wine, yet well-balanced, complex and ample, with black fruit and fine, present tannins. Rich and lengthy on the finish.

2019
"A late-release red, with polished corners to its rich, chewy stream of plum, fig paste, mocha and warm brown bread, supported by a concrete layer of mineral density. Savory undertones bring contrast, with herbs, olive brine and dried leaves adding to the complex profile. Dense, dark and long. Syrah, Grenache and Roussanne. Drink now through 2030. 312 cases made, 62 cases imported."
