Feudo Montoni
Inzolia dei Fornelli Sicilia DOC
Fornelli is the name of the prestigious cru from which these grapes are sourced. The name originates from ancient kilns, or "fornelli," where local clay was fired to create vessels for storing wine, oil, and other goods, linking the region's winemaking heritage to centuries of craftsmanship. This unique terroir, with its rich, mineral soil and historical significance, imparts exceptional depth and character to the wine, making it a true reflection of the land's ancient traditions and natural richness.
For centuries, the durum wheat fields have contributed to a “natural isolation” of Montoni’s high-altitude vineyards from the rest of the landscape, creating “an island within an island,” where the ancient grape varieties are protected. 30 years old vines. Sandy, clay soils. East facing slopes.

Straw yellow in color with light green reflections. The nose has floral notes of Sicilian Spanish broom flowers and chamomile, with aromas of pear, yellow melon and honey. On the palate, the acidity is well-balanced and has a persistent freshness, with a long finish and unique mineral notes.

"Fresh and floral, this well-cut white layers a salty underpinning beneath its pretty mix of peach skin, apple peel and blood orange flavors, with accents of green almond, white blossoms and pickled ginger that linger on the racy finish."
