Domaine Les Monts Fournois
Coteaux Champenois Blanc
Combining elegance and finesse, this still white Coteaux Champenois made from Chardonnay grapes from the northern Montagne de Reims region reflects the freshness of its terroir.
These old Chardonnay vines were planted in 1961, on the “Les Monts Fournois” Premier Cru terroir in Ludes. The soil is poor, the chalk almost outcropping. The south-facing exposure is optimal for Chardonnay maturity.

"Juliette’s first Coteaux Champenois, the 2022 Coteaux Champenois Blanc Les Monts Fournois pours a brilliant, reflective yellow and comes from a very sunny year that was a perfect vintage for balance. The nose shows a delicate reduction from indigenous fermentation, with notes of poached apples, fresh lime, and lemon zest. Medium-bodied, the toastiness is elegant and will only benefit from time. The palate has a silky, creamy, medium-bodied sensation. I imagine it may flesh out a touch, with elegant hints of crème brûlée and confit. Long and elegant on the palate., these are wines that really require patience, but this one is delicious now."

"The 2022 Coteaux Champenois is racy and expressive right out of the glass. Lemon confit, marzipan, white flowers, passion fruit, mint and a kiss of French oak meld together effortlessly. Tropical notes lend an exotic flair, along with lovely weight and creaminess that builds through the mid-palate and into the finish."
