Feudo Montoni
Nero d’ Avola Lagnusa Sicilia DOC
Lagnusa is the name of the cur from which the grapes hail. The name has its origins in the vineyard which has always been called "lagnusa" by the farmers of Montoni. In Sicilian, "lagnusa" means that wich is lazy and produces small quantities. Today, we know that a vineyard that produces less, generally reults in a higher quality wine with tremendous focus.
For centuries, the durum wheat fields have contributed to a “natural isolation” of Montoni’s high-altitude vineyards from the rest of the landscape, creating “an island within an island,” where the ancient grape varieties are protected. 35 year-old vines. Sandy soils. East-facing vineyards.

Ruby red in color. Its structure does not want to conquer with strength, but rather with elegance. A complex perfume with notes of cherriesin-spirit, red plum, blackberry and warm spices that are in harmony with one another. The boldest aromas are of cinnamon and clove. Notes of menthol amplify the freshness of the taste. It is soft, velvety, sapid and laced with the right amount of delicate tannin on the palate.

"Fragrant hints of white peach and bay leaf on the nose lead to a brambly mix of juicy raspberry, strawberry and mulberry fruit. This is expressive and well-spiced, with light, buoyant tannins and notes of wild sage and flowers on the finish."
