Feudo Montoni
Passito Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT
This wine is made from sun-dried grapes of Nero d'Avola and Perricone, giving it a lusciously sweet and creamy character. The practice of sun-drying grapes, particularly in Sicily, dates back to ancient times and was used in the production of wines like Marsala. This method allows for the creation of a dessert wine with a delicate balance of sweetness and acidity. The slow fermentation process, aided by the gradual addition of sun-dried grapes, allows the wine to develop a rich, concentrated flavor, while the 7 months of aging in wood barrels and 12 months in bottle provide the wine with the necessary time to evolve and integrate its components, resulting in a wine that is complex and sophisticated

“Dried black cherries, red plums, sage, dried orange peels and a dusting of crushed rocks create a deeply alluring bouquet as the NV (2021 Harvest) Rosso Passito opens in the glass. It's silky-smooth with racy acidity and ultra-ripe wild berry fruits accentuated by autumnal spices and traces of dark chocolate. It finishes zesty and extended with a sour cherry flourish and sweet herbal tones that resonate.”
