Val di Suga
Rosso di Montalcino DOC
This Rosso is distinct for its earlier accessibility compared to Brunello, offering a more approachable yet complex profile. It showcases the unique terroirs of Montalcino, delivering a refined and expressive wine that reflects the estate's commitment to quality and tradition. Val di Suga's Rosso di Montalcino is a vibrant expression of Sangiovese Grosso, sourced from the estate's three historic vineyards. The blend consists of a younger selection of vines, of which, about 40% are from Vigna del Lago, with its unique microclimate, 30% from Poggio al Granchio, known for its structured soils, and 30% from Vigna Spuntali, which provides freshness due to its higher altitude.
Vintage Factsheets
This Rosso di Montalcino is sourced from younger vineyards on the southwestern slope of Montalcino, where the influence of the sea and a Mediterranean climate contribute to a unique growing environment. The vineyards, with vines ranging from 7 to 15 years old, benefit from regenerative viticulture practices, ensuring sustainable and healthy soil. The sandy soils of the area allow for excellent drainage, promoting balanced vine growth and enhancing the wine's character.

“Flush with medicinal herbs, this jumps from the glass with notes of cranberry compote and rose petal. Medium-bodied and energetic with the refreshing acidity of orange zest and pomegranate as well as fine tannins, it is zippy and focused, with a vibrant linear approach.”
