Biondi-Santi
Rosso di Montalcino DOC
A wine of fruit and vibrancy, the Biondi-Santi Rosso paves the way for the Brunello. For Biondi-Santi, the Rosso has always been a special wine, following a specific idea of making a red wine which reflects the signature style of our high-altitude vineyards with a vibrant freshness and a structure, which permits the wine to age, but which is driven by a distinct fruity character and is thoroughly enjoyable at a young age.
Biondi-Santi's Rosso di Montalcino is crafted from grapes grown in the estate's younger vineyards, situated in the heart of Montalcino. These vineyards, planted with the Sangiovese Grosso variety, benefit from the same unique terroir as the Brunello, with a combination of clay and limestone soils, and an ideal altitude that ensures optimal grape ripening. The younger vines produce fruit with vibrant freshness and intensity, which is carefully harvested to capture the essence of Montalcino’s distinctive climate. The wine showcases the region's signature balance, with fresh acidity and refined tannins, offering a more accessible expression of the Sangiovese grape while maintaining the complexity and elegance for which Biondi-Santi is known.

"Offers ample fruit in the form of cherry, strawberry and red currant notes accented by tar, iron and eucalyptus. Firmly structured, tense and elegant, with a solid grip on the long finish."
