From the President

As is customary in the final trimester of the year, we are proud to launch our annual Fall Luxury Offering and look forward to spending holidays sharing the special bottles we’ve been cellaring away for the most memorable meals of the year. This year will be different in many ways. We’re facing unprecedented challenges in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic which has impacted so many

families across this great land. Our hearts go out to all that have experienced loss over the past six months. We’ve also witnessed people across America and the world turn out in record numbers to protest racial injustice and prayer for unity and peace. Our instincts as wine professionals, however, have led us to maintain that there is no greater reason to raise a glass of outstanding wine than the spirit of togetherness, and this showcase of our ever-growing portfolio has never been more worthy of celebration.

There is more exciting news to share and that is the addition of Familia Torres to our Portfolio. Our first exploration into Spain is an enormous source of pride, and we welcome this historic wine making family warmly to the Wilson Daniels family. The Torres roots in wine date back 150 years and in Spain outside of the Torres native home in the Penedès region, they own vineyards in DO Conca de Barberà, DO Costers del Segre, DO Rías Baixas, DO Rueda, DO Ribera del Duero, DOQ Priorat and most recently in DOCa Rioja.

In addition to exciting new releases from winery partners like Royal Tokaji and Champagne Gosset, this year’s Fall Luxury Offering highlights the award-winning Domaine de Beaurenard, which has been producing its world-famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape for eight generations. Presented alongside outstanding producers including Feudo Montoni, Kumeu River, Biondi-Santi, Domaine Leflaive, and Olivier Bernstein, we present this lineup as the most diverse and exciting our team has ever curated with your wine lists and collections in mind. Keeping you in touch with the winemakers behind these remarkable bottles is our driving force, and we appreciate your support of these storied, inimitable estates.

Finally, I would like to commend the tireless efforts and fearless tenacity of our colleagues in the restaurant and hospitality industries as they’ve shouldered enormous burdens due to essential lockdown and social distancing measures. Thanks to their fast restructuring to take-out, delivery, “take and bake” models, bottle sales, and in later phases of reopening, expanded outdoor and sidewalk seating, we are seeing the industry begin to heal. We will continue to work closely with our restaurant partners to ensure we are doing our part in the larger recovery effort and wish to thank every one of our customers who have shown strength during these difficult months.

Fall is a time to reflect on the importance of celebrating together, and as we look to the holiday season and new year, we at Wilson Daniels send our warmest wishes, highest hopes, and sincerest thanks for being a part of our collective passion for the world’s finest wines.
