One of the most hallowed sites in Carneros is Hyde Vineyard, which the Hyde family began developing in 1979. It now covers 200 acres, with its biggest plantings to Chardonnay, followed by Pinot Noir and Merlot. Leading the pack from Hyde is a joint venture the Hyde family has with Aubert de Villaine of Burgundy’s famed Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, the HdV Napa Valley Carneros Hyde Vineyard 2017 (94, $74), followed by Aubert Larry Hyde & Sons 2018 (93, $85), and at 93 points, wines from Aubert, DuMol and Kistler.
