Looking for a Weekend Cocktail? Let The Polo Bar Provide

Want a drink right about now? You might as well make it one from The Polo Bar. Since opening in 2015, the midtown restaurant has held steady as one of the hottest reservations in New York thanks to its stylish equestrian decor, scrumptious offerings, and celeb-heavy crowd. (It helps that Ralph Lauren has hosted many a launch there.) But while the food—order the burger!—and reputation may be what brings you to The Polo Bar, their exquisite cocktail menu is what will keep you coming back. General manager Darnell Dodson has curated a list of expertly made classics along with intriguing original recipes.

Like so many restaurants right now, the Polo Bar is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But as of recently, they’re keeping buzz alive with The Polo Bar At Home—an array of offerings that include meal kits, food, and yes, cocktail delivery. (Though it should be noted that orders are only available in large batches—375 ml and 750 ml—which is probably what you want, anyway.)

One of the libations? The Rosé Royale, which the bar describes as “reminiscent of summer of a glass.” Made with champagne, triple sec, rose, and adorned with an orange twist, it’s the perfect light and airy summer cocktail.

Below, The Polo Bar shares a step-by-step guide on how to make your own Rosé Royale at home.

Ingredients:

0.5 oz Royal Combier

0.5 oz Giffard Triple Sec

3 oz Gassier Esprit Côtes de Provence Rosé

2 oz Gosset Brut Excellence Champagne

Orange twist

Directions:

Combine Combier and Triple Sec in a wine glass, add Rosé and then Champagne. Fill the glass with large ice cubes and stir, approx. 10-12 rotations. Squeeze orange twist on top and enjoy.
