Wilson Daniels Expands Portfolio with Domaine Laroche

ST. HELENA, CA (November 29, 2011) – Wilson Daniels, one of the industry’s leading fine wine sales and marketing organizations, has been named exclusive U.S. importer for Laroche, a leading wine producer, encompassing properties in Chablis, Languedoc, Chile and South Africa. The partnership will begin January 1, 2012.

“We are very pleased to form this partnership with Wilson Daniels and see it as an important moment in the history of Laroche and its properties,” said Antoine Leccia, president and CEO of Advini, Domaine Laroche’s parent entity.

Ray Chadwick, president and CEO of Wilson Daniels said, “Laroche is a perfect complement to our existing portfolio of fine wines. This relationship recognizes the success our other European properties have enjoyed with Wilson Daniels in the U.S. market.”

One of the largest holders of grand cru vineyards in Chablis today, Domaine Laroche is well-known as an innovator in the region, having built a state-of-the-art winery and pioneered the use of screwcap closures for even its grand cru wines. Celebrated winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt serves as a consultant for the property.

The history of Laroche dates back to 1850, when Victor Laroche purchased his first parcel of land in Chablis. In 1967, Victor’s grandson, Michel Laroche, at the age of 21, joined the family business. Two years later, he had acquired 100 hectares and built his first winery, Domaine Laroche.

Between 1995 and 2005, Michel brought that same vision and innovation to three of the world’s other great winemaking regions, with Mas la Chevalière in the South of France, offering both exceptional growing sites and comprehensive equipment specifically designed for organic wines; Viña Punto Alto, located in Casablanca Valley, Chile’s leading cool climate region; and L’Avenir, in Stellenbosch, South Africa’s leading wine-growing region.
