Château Gassier
946, Côtes de Provence-Sainte-Victoire – 2018

Lush, with tropical flavors of mango and pineapple, this rosé has a toasty edge, along with a creamy-textured profile, leading to details of mineral, herb, spice and white tea.

Brilliant salmon skin. Highly perfumed, mineral-accented aromas of fresh berries, citrus and pit fruits and a suave floral note. Silky and focused on the mouth, offering juicy nectarine, strawberry and blood orange flavors that show fine clarity and tension. Deepens on a very long, lively finish, that leaves a repeating floral note behind.

Limpid orange pink. Bright and sharply focused on the nose, displaying fresh red berry, pit fruit and orange zest aromas. Silky and precise on the palate, offering juicy strawberry and nectarine flavors and a hint of blood orange. Shows good depth but comes off lithe, closing with a very good, minerally persistence.

This is a rich, raspberry-flavored wine, full of vibrant acidity and fruitiness. Freshness contrasts with the wine's ripeness and generous structure. Drink from late 2020.

Esprit comes from the vineyards at the foot of Mount Sainte Victoire. A blend of grenache, cinsault, syrah and rolle, it offers more flavor than the pale pink color predicts: Bright, limey acidity and wild-strawberry notes are underlined by the savor of wet stone and garrigue. It’s ready to pair with an herb omelet.

A lush blend of four Rhône varieties, pale pink, dry and juicy, deep and generous; tangy and delightful, from one of the region’s top producers.

A partly barrel-fermented (in Austrian demi-muids) blend of Syrah, Grenache and Rolle, the 2018 Cotes de Provence Sainte Victoire 946 is a spicy, oaky wine, completely different in style from most Côtes de Provence rosés. But once you wrap your head around the style, it's an impressive effort, offering enough citrus, melon and peach flavors to support the wood. Just drink up, as I suspect with time the wood will dominate.

This wine is a rich, smooth blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. The ripe, smooth texture gives intensity and complexity to this wine that should be ready to drink from late 2019.

Shimmering orange-pink. Powerful, oak-spiced aromas of nectarine, strawberry, blood orange, vanilla and honey, plus a hint of smoky minerality in the background. Deep-pitched, mineral-driven red berry and pit fruit flavors pick up fennel, vanilla and candied lavender nuances with air. Clings with serious tenacity on the penetrating finish, leaving notes of peach nectar and raspberry preserves behind. Fermented in new Austrian oak demi-muids and raised in concrete tanks.

Very pale, lurid orange. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes mineral-accented citrus and pit fruits, along with a powerful floral overtone. Coats the palate with juicy nectarine blood orange, strawberry and lavender flavors that take a sweeter turn and tighten up on the back half. The floral note comes back strong on an impressively long, focused finish that shows excellent clarity and solid mineral thrust.

A solid rosé showing a bouquet of rose petals, lemons, sliced apples and spices. Round and fruity but with enough acidity to carry this through to a tangy finish. Drink now.

Light bright orange. Pungent, mineral-tinged red and pit fruit and floral aromas are complemented by a subtle herbal nuance that gains strength as the wine opens up. Juicy and well-delineated on the palate, offering subtly sweet raspberry, tangerine and white peach flavors that spread out on the back half. Concentrated yet lithe in style, finishing with strong mineral and floral thrust.

This wine is the heart of the production from this estate. The blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Vermentino creates a wonderful freshness, while also showing richness and a touch of spice. It is intensely fruity and ready to drink now.

Produced from organically grown grapes, this crisply textured wine is grown in the cru vineyards of Mont Saint-Victoire. Its lively acidity is enhanced by the inclusion of some white grapes (Rolle and Ugni Blanc) in the blend. Drink now.
