Domaine Faiveley
Clos-De-Vougeot — 2022

"Very fleshy, suave and fragrant. This has excellent concentration and beautiful harmony of ripe fruit with fine toasty, smoky oak plus ample velvety tannins. The finesse at the front is every bit as impressive as the structure that builds in the long finish.”

Corton “Clos Des Cortons Faiveley” (Monopole) — 2022

"Beautiful nose of fresh Damson plums with a slew of delicate, spicy nuances. For anyone who thinks that great Burgundy must be delicate and silky, here is the firm and deeply structured answer to that one-sided viewpoint. Enormously stony wild herb character powers the extremely long, simultaneously firm and expressive finish.”

"This has all the racy and stony character of this grand cru site, marrying it to a fabulous elegance that makes this quite full-bodied chardonnay glide over your palate. The great concentration and power are adeptly underplayed, but they drive an extremely long, chalky and saline finish that's totally fascinating. From four plots facing east, ranging from the bottom to the top of the hill.”

"Fascinating deep, ripe nose with a wealth of subtle earth and yuzu notes. Refined and concentrated on the very silky, medium- to full-bodied palate. The fine tannins build beautifully in the expansive finish.”

"The enormously deep and dark nose of wet earth and spicy complexity barely prepares you for the combination of gigantic concentration, precision and originality on the stunningly graceful palate, which is only medium-bodied. The finish just keeps echoing down the valleys of your mind thanks to the extraordinarily fine tannins. From three plots in this legendary site totaling.”

"This is brimming with flinty character that lights up the restrained citrus and pear fruit on the generous, medium-bodied palate. Very long, elegant, fresh finish with a salty minerality that gives it excellent tension. From a five-hectare monopole site.”

"What a joyful red Burgundy. Full black and red raspberry fruit. Juicy and mouth-filling in spite of the lightness of touch, due to the lively acidity. Gentle tannins underline this beautifully. Fresh and lively finish.”

"Complex nose in which floral and earth elements mingle with a hint of graphite. Impressive structure for a village wine, but also elegant thanks to the fine tannins. Long, velvety finish that's been expertly crafted.”

"Dark and rich with stacks of red fruit and licorice plus delicate notes of summer flowers and bark. Plenty of power, structure and concentration on the medium- to full-bodied palate, but for this appellation the ample tannins are remarkably fine. Wonderful interplay of beautifully ripe fruit and salty minerality at the long, exciting finish.”

"What a complex nose of white peaches, apricots and white flowers with a hint of fresh almonds. Considering the ample weight and concentration of this, it remains very straight and precise right through the long and focused finish. Only just beginning to open up.”

"A whiff of briny oyster shell leads off, with flavors of peach, citronella, white flowers, lemon oil and baking spices. Supple and fluid, this white is approachable now, yet should be even better in a year or two. Shows excellent harmony, finesse and length..."

"Pure and silky, offering cherry, raspberry, floral, sandalwood and oak spice aromas and flavors, this gains depth from earth and mineral notes as it builds to the long, intense finish. Shows terrific balance overall, yet this will require six to eight years to hit its stride."

Musigny — 2022

The Wine Advocate

“As usual, the 2022 Musigny Grand Cru is a micro-cuvée from a tiny 0.03-hectare parcel. Wafting from the glass with aromas of black cherries, wild berries, incense, licorice and exotic spices, it's full-bodied, seamless and perfumed, with a deep and multidimensional core of fruit, supple tannins and a long, resonant, intensely saline finish.”

“Faiveley's monopole Clos des Myglands on the northern edge of the village has delivered a delightful wine in 2022, with a lovely raspberry and plum fruit character, and a hint of rose petals and earth. The wine has a pronounced sweetness and a gratifyingly silky texture on the palate.A genuinely delightful success.”

Chambertin “Clos De Bèze”— 2022

Decanter

“The 'classic' Clos de Bèze from Faiveley is blended from three parcels that total one hectare, all located in the centre of the climat. 'Serious but not severe' I wrote in my notes. The wine has admirable complexity and depth of flavour, with focused blackberry and mulberry fruit, notes of violets and peonies, ginger, star anise, and liquorice spice. There is all the lovely intensity and length of a top wine and enough freshness to keep it lively.”

Domaine Faiveley
Puligny-Montrachet — 2021

The Wine Advocate
90+

“The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Village offers up aromas of pear, sweet citrus oil, toasted nuts and iodine, followed by a medium to full-bodied, tangy and chiseled palate that's taut, pure and saline, with a racy spine of acidity and a penetrating finish. This will reward a bit of bottle age.”
