  • Introduction

    • WINERY Champagne Gosset produces dynamic, textured cuvées that reflect their sourcing, primarily Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. By following a winemaking philosophy that minimizes inputs beyond what the grapes provide (e.g. no malolactic fermentation), the winery continues a family legacy of excellence that started in 1584, making it the oldest wine house in Champagne.

WINE Proof that Champagne wines have tremendous ageability potential. The Gosset style at its very best. Thanks to a unique vinification method, our wines can undergo long maturation in the depths of our cellars while retaining exceptional freshness and a full aromatic expression. This Champagne goes beyond the boundaries already attained by the previous Comptes d’Âges cuvées.

The dosage is carefully selected to preserve the balance between freshness, fruit and vinosity without masking the wine’s character and purity.

  • Tasting Notes

    • Golden hue, characteristic of the wine’s maturity. Aromas of dried fruit: apricots and candied pineapple, followed, after a few minutes, and aromas of chestnut honey. The WINEMAKING Varietals: palate opens with a rich expression of plums and other yellow fruits and a blend of candied citrus fruit. The midpalate shows nice structure and density with notes of light tobacco. This “ennobled by time” quality is balanced on the finish by a surprising mineral freshness and just a hint of salinity, characteristic of the Gosset style.

Reviews

  • 21 Ans de Cave a Minima Extra Brut — NV – Decanter – 91 Points

"Gosset produces specific blends for extended lees ageing. The latest 21 Ans de Minima is based on the 2000 vintage. A fully mature Champagne full of bitter orange, quince and dried-pear aromas, it's warm with spicy pepper and toasted walnuts, while showing some of the latent, tropical-fruit heat of the vintage. This is on the weighty, autumnal side; those seeking out something more energetic should look for magnums of the 15 Ans de Minima, perhaps the most striking wine to have come from Gosset in recent years."

  • 21 Ans de Cave a Minima Extra Brut — NV – Jeb Dunnuck – 93 Points

"Pouring a mature golden/straw color, the NV Champagne 21 Ans Extra Brut is aged for 21 years and is 57% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot Noir. It’s mature but not over developed, with notes of honeycomb, beeswax, ripe peaches, and a delicate reductive note with aromas of fresh rained-on asphalt that is quite nice. The palate is chalky and long, with a refined, elegant mousse and a clean finish. Disgorged in 2022, it’s ready to enjoy now."
