  • Introduction

    • Our original estate and our family’s North Star is located in the iron-rich, volcanic soils of the Dundee Hills. The Bergström Vineyard is 13 acres of south and southeast-facing vines bathing in the cool northerly sunlight and overlooking the expansive and rich Willamette Valley. Optimum elevation and exposure provide ideal ripening potential for our most powerful, yet elegant expression of Pinot Noir, annually adorned with flowers, fruit, savory herbs and spices and ferrous minerals

  • Tasting Notes

    • From one of the lowest yielding vintages in our history, the 2020 Pinot Noir portfolio showcases some of my favorite attributes of young red wines: bright, fresh fruit aromas and flavors, sweet floral perfume, sweet and savory herbs and a distinct saline minerality all tied up in a playful and juicy structure. This wine is no exception.

An explosively gorgeous perfume of red fruit candies, roses, violets, sweet herbs, black and green teas, grilled meats, toasted French oak and sweet spices. On the palate, this wine is pure and silky with a youthful charm of wild strawberries, potpourri, sweet peppers, French tarragon, basil and mint. It is rich, but this great terroir gifts a texture that is effortlessly elegant. Fresh, crunchy fruit flavors and floral aromas abound with an irresistible ferrous iron mineral structure.

Reviews

  • Pinot Noir, Bergström Vineyard, Dundee Hills — 2019 — Vinous — 95 Points

Brilliant ruby. Hugely perfumed raspberry, boysenberry, fruitcake, floral oil and exotic spice scents show fine delineation and building minerality. Stains the palate with sappy red and blue preserve, candied rose, cola and five-spice powder flavors that smoothly blend depth and energy and betray no rough edges. Polished tannins add shape to an extremely long, spicy finish that echoes the floral and blue fruit notes.
