  • Introduction

    • Our production range is rounded off by this great expression of the Nebbiolo grape. Like Cogno’s other wines, this Barbaresco is elegant and structured, with a fiercely independent character. This isn’t a Barbaresco that wants to mimic its cousin Barolo, but a wine that demands respect for its full, strong identity, from vineyard to cellar. This is the wager of a Barolo producer going against the stream, grabbing the chance to come to terms with a historical wine, a supreme expression of the Langhe hills. This wine is born thanks to an extremely valuable collaboration with a friend and producer in Neive, which helped the Cogno family to embark on this new adventure.

  • Vintage Report

    • The result of an excellent vintage, the Barbaresco Bordini 2020 is a wine of great impact, because of its exuberant and rich aromatic profile, composed of ripe strawberry, Mediterranean herbs, cola, and sweet spices. It is a tasty, vibrant, and fresh wine, which does not lack the typical and dense tannic texture that gives thickness to the sip. The correspondence between nose and mouth is excellent and the aftertaste is decidedly long.

Reviews

  • Bordini Barbaresco DOCG – 2020 – James Suckling – 94 Points

“Attractive raspberries and cherries with hints of roselle and red spices. Some blood orange, too. Medium- to full-bodied, polished and refined with compact tannins and velvety texture. It’s ripe but fresh with pure and vivid red fruit character and a lengthy finish.”

  • Bordini Barbaresco DOCG – 2020 – Wine Advocate – 93 Points

“Shows extra power and heft in terms of its fruit delivery. Offers medium fruit texture with a classic presentation of cherry, redcurrant, licorice, blue flower and spice.”

  • Bordini Barbaresco DOCG — 2020 – Jeb Dunnuck – 93 Points

“Pale ruby with light garnet, the 2020 Barbaresco Bordini is elegant with the perfume of red raspberry, fresh orange peel, and fresh red flowers. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with super-fine, sweet, polished tannins, fresh strawberry, and a good finish.”
