  • Introduction

    • WINERY: Champagne Gosset produces dynamic, textured cuvées that reflect their sourcing, primarily Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. By following a winemaking philosophy that minimizes inputs beyond what the grapes provide (e.g. no malolactic fermentation), the winery continues a family legacy of excellence that started in 1584, making it the oldest wine house in Champagne.

WINE: Celebris is Gosset’s prestige cuvée, the culmination of Gosset’s style and only produced in the best vintages with potential for great dynamism, depth and agability. Celebris launched with a 1988 vintage cuvée, sold for the first time in 1995. The Celebris Rosé generally includes a tiny percentage of still red wine from Grand Crus to add a delicate pink hue.

  • Tasting Notes

    • A crystal-clear, luminous coppery shade that points to the many years spent ageing in cellars. Strawberry jam lifted by a spicy (black pepper) and menthol touch, lingering on with ripe summer fruits (peach, nectarine, apricot).

A full-bodied tautness, with accords of ripe black cherry shot through with a blood orange note that provides a flash of enticing tangy freshness. The blend is dominated by an iodic, salty finish reminiscent of the mineral crispness of the Chardonnay.

  • CELEBRIS Extra Brut — 2008 – Vinous – 96 Points

“Offers up hints of apricot, brioche, baked apple tart, white pepper, chamomile and dried flowers. Extended time on the lees yields terrific flavor and textural complexity. This is an especially deep, vinous Champagne from Gosset.”

  • CELEBRIS Rosé Brut — 2008 – Cellar Selection – Wine Enthusiast – 95 Points

“Fruity while also textured. It is a structured wine, full of minerals and still amazingly young. With its freshness almost entirely intact and few signs of maturity, it could obviously age further.”

  • CELEBRIS Rosé Brut — 2008 – Jeb Dunnuck – 95 Points

“Offering beautiful freshness and purity, with cherry blossom, grapefruit, and pastry crust, and it has a pillowy mousse and a bit more tension through the back end, with a refreshing lift of acidity. A very attractive wine.”

  • Champagne Gosset CELEBRIS Rosé Extra Brut — 2008 – Wine Spectator – 94 Points

A rich rosé in a vinous style, with steeped raspberry and black cherry fruit flavors and an aromatic overtone of whole grain toast, crystallized honey and salted almond. Fine and creamy in texture, with a firm backbone of well-knit acidity creating a mouthwatering impression on the lightly chalky, herb- and spice-laced finish.
