  • Vineyard Profile

    • Châteauneuf-du-Pape is characterized by the diversity of its soils, with a mosaic of plots where different varieties grow together on limestone rock, round pebbles on a clay substrate with varying amounts of iron, and fine sedimentary sand.

  • Vintage Report

    • 2019 vintage is in line with the top vintages of the decade. After a nice winter, spring came slowly, when our famous wind “Mistral” helped to keep a healthy environment in the vineyard during the important growing season. The last week of June, Rhône Valley vineyards went through a heat wave with temperatures above 45°C (113 °F). Fortunately, our biodynamic sprays of horn dungs, silicas, chamomiles, nettles and essential oils, combined with good water reserves in soil from 2018, helped the vines to continue their growth in great condition. Thanks to gentle rains in August and September, we were able to pick beautiful, healthy and balanced grapes.

  • Vinification

    • The grapes are hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard. Co-fermentation, long vatting for soft extractions. Matured for 12 months in conical vats, foudres and barrels.

  • Technical Information

    • Varietal Composition: A blend of the 13 varieties of the appellation, predominantly Grenache
    • Alcohol: 15%

It offers a supple and refined texture associated with a delicate aromatic palette that is the result of a constant quest for freshness.

  • Domaine de Beaurenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape — 2019 – Jeb Dunnuck – 94 Points

The classic cuvée from this estate, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape is a winner. Lots of darker cherry and currant fruits as well as ample minerality, new leather, and scorched earth notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, concentrated classic cuvée that has plenty of ripe tannins, the freshness and acidity of the vintage, terrific balance, and the class to evolve for two decades.

  • Domaine de Beaurenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape — 2019 – Jancis Robinson – 16+ Points

Tasted blind. Attractive vibrant nose with zippy dark fruits and sweet fragrant tobacco notes. Firm and fine chalky tannins with a warming ripe mouthfeel but underpinned by good acidity and freshness.
