  • Introduction

    • The power of Serralunga and the elegance of La Morra originate this captivating Barolo.

  • Vineyard Profile

    • Vineyards: Both in Serralunga and La Morra
    • Appellation: Barolo D.O.P
    • First Year of Production: 1998
  • Vintage Report

    • The winter of 2019 encountered scarce snowfalls which were the precursor to a dry spell. January and February continued to be dry with average to low temperatures. These optimal conditions helped to protect against the onset of diseases. Abundant rainfall with average to low temperatures occurred in April and May. At the end of June, the temperatures rose sharply for about 3 days and caused stress to the plants with signs of browning appearing on the leaves. From mid-July onwards, the first significant rains set in with falling in Barbaresco, causing the temperatures to drop for the rest of the summer. More rain fell resulting in a total of 800 mm from the beginning of the year to the end of August. The soil with a high water content plus the warm temperatures allowed the phenolic ripening to progress. We started the harvest in Barbaresco at the same time as the harvest in Barolo, but the harvest was shorter in Barolo, starting at the beginning of October and finishing on October 20.

  • Vinification

    • The grapes, coming from the single vineyards, separately undergo fermentation, maceration, and aging in oak for 12 months. They are then blended and further aged in oak for another 18 months.

    • Varietal Composition: 100% Nebbiolo
  • Tasting Notes

    • 2019 Dagromis has a garnet color with violet highlights. On the nose, this wine showcases floral and fruity notes of violet, cherry, plum, sweet licorice, ginger, and marzipan. On the palate, delicate showing juicy, cherry-like mouthfeel leads to a savory, yet sweet entry with a subtle tannin structure all characteristics of the vintage. This is a classic Barolo with great aging potential.
