Bergström Wines
Bergström Vineyard Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills
The Bergström Vineyard is 13 acres of south and southeast-facing vines bathing in the cool northerly sunlight and overlooking the expansive and rich Willamette Valley. Optimum elevation and exposure provide ideal ripening potential for our most powerful, yet elegant expression of Pinot Noir, annually adorned with flowers, fruit, savory herbs and spices and ferrous minerals.
The birthplace of Bergström Wines. Reminiscent of a terracotta, scorched earth amphitheater, this bowl-shaped estate vineyard is ideally situated in America’s most famous appellation for cool-climate Pinot Noir. Facing due south, the Bergström Vineyard is bathed in the warm sunlight of Oregon’s summer days and is a so protected from the cool oceanic winds that come through the Van Duzer coastal wind gap to the southwest. The Bergström Vineyard has optimum ripening potential and gives our winery its most powerful yet elegant expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Biodynamic since inception. 22 year old vines. Volcanic "Jory" clays on top of basalt rock. South and southeast exposure at 380 feet.

An explosively gorgeous perfume of red fruit candies, roses, violets, sweet herbs, black and green teas, grilled meats, toasted French oak and sweet spices. On the palate, this wine is pure and silky with a youthful charm of wild strawberries, potpourri, sweet peppers, French tarragon, basil and mint. It is rich, but this great terroir gifts a texture that is effortlessly elegant. Fresh, crunchy fruit flavors and floral aromas abound with an irresistible ferrous iron mineral structure.

"Savory and spiced, with a lot of earthy complexity, it offers wild berries, dried orange peel and subtle hints of cherries, chocolate and iodine on the nose. The palate is broad and encompassing, very textured and seamless, with a medium body and well-integrated tannins. Long, deep and complex."
